Temperature by material

The temperature limit follows the material grade, so the range above spans every grade offered rather than any one build. Confirmed at quotation.

A105
-29°C to 538°C (carbon steel; at cryogenic temperature it does not deform, it shatters)
F11
-29°C to 540°C (1.25Cr-0.5Mo alloy steel)
LF2
-46°C to 345°C (low-temperature carbon steel; impact-tested, but not to -196 °C)
F316, F304
-196°C to 538°C (austenitic stainless steel; the only grades here that reach cryogenic)
PTFE (carbon-strengthened)seat
-196°C to 260°C (the soft seat limits service below the body rating)

Description

A fully welded ball valve constructed from carbon steel seamless pipe, pressed and formed into an integral welded body. Features a carbon-strengthened PTFE inclined elastic sealing ring with negative pressure on the spherical surface. Available in sizes DN50, DN1200 (NPS 2, 48) across pressure classes Class 150, 2500, suitable for a wide range of pipeline applications.

Selection notes

This ball valve is a fully welded pattern, supplied for butt weld and socket weld installation.

Sizes run NPS 2" to NPS 48", in Class 150, Class 300, Class 600, Class 900, Class 1500, Class 2500.

The body is offered in A105, LF2, F316 and F11, so the grade can be matched to the service rather than the other way round.

Seat and trim options are PTFE (carbon-strengthened). The seat, not the body, usually sets the temperature and medium limit, so confirm it against the service before ordering.

Stated service media include petroleum, natural gas, chemicals and petrochemicals.

It is catalogued for Oil & Gas and Industrial Process.

Working temperature is -196°C to 260°C, by material.

Built to API 6D, API 608, ASME B16.34, ISO 17292 and BS5351.
