About storm valves
A storm valve (overboard discharge valve) is fitted on a ship's side discharge to prevent the sea from backflooding drainage, scupper and bilge lines in heavy weather. A self-closing disc opens under outward flow and closes against inward sea pressure, and a positive manual override allows the line to be secured. They are built in bronze and cast iron to marine society standards for shipboard use. Provide the bore, connection and the applicable class-society requirement so we can propose a suitable valve.
