Features
- The bypass RSV incorporates a small integral bypass valve that allows the operator to equalise pressure across the main valve before opening, dramatically reducing operating torque
- Essential for large diameter gate valves installed in high-pressure systems where differential pressure across the closed valve could otherwise require excessive operating force or risk wedge damage on opening
- Newly advanced design, less operating torque and better abrasion resistance
- Body and cover are made of high-grade ductile iron
- Disc uses an abrasion-resistant nylon guide, giving lower opening/closing torque and smoother operation
- Forged stem provides stronger stem operation with fewer moving parts
- Disc is covered by high-grade rubber compliant with drinking water
- High-tech rubber curing with precise geometry gives a more resilient, strongly adhered bond to the ductile casting
- Three O-ring stem seals prevent stem leakage and allow O-ring replacement without disassembling the valve from the mainline pipes
- Both inside and outside are coated with epoxy resin powder
- Manufactured to BS EN 1074, BS 5163, BS EN 1171
- Face-to-face dimension meets BS EN 558-1
Description
The bypass RSV incorporates a small integral bypass valve that allows the operator to equalise pressure across the main valve before opening, dramatically reducing operating torque. Essential for large diameter gate valves installed in high-pressure systems where differential pressure across the closed valve could otherwise require excessive operating force or risk wedge damage on opening.
Selection notes
This gate valve is supplied for flanged installation.
Sizes run DN450 to DN1200, in PN10, PN16.
The body is Ductile Iron EN GJS 500-7.

Supplier remarks
- Hydraulic test: Seat 1.1 x PN, Body 1.5 x PN to BS/EN. Powder epoxy coating thickness approximately 250 micron. Full dimension tables (DN450-600 and DN700-1200) are stated but not reproduced here beyond the sizes already in dimensions_table. Ordering code additionally names: Operator types (H handwheel, C cap, B bare, E electrical/bare, I with mechanical indicator for non-rising-stem/handwheel, S with mechanical indicator and wiring), Bonnet type (X with gland, T without gland), and end connections beyond PN10/16: JIS 10K, ANSI 125 F/F, ANSI 150 R/F. The datasheet titles this a Non-Rising Stem Gate Valve BS Type (model code GB), more specific than the generic RSV Gate Valve name.
