Typical applications

  • Power industry
  • Petroleum refining
  • Petrochemical industry
  • Marine oil
  • Urban water supply engineering
  • Chemical industry

Actuation options

Manual handwheel

Features

  • Minimal friction between valve flap and seat during opening and closing, reducing wear
  • Relatively short travel height
  • Quick opening and closing action
  • Good sealing performance
  • Simple and compact overall structure
  • Lower cost compared to a regulating (control) valve for throttling duties
  • Valve flap does not contact seat prior to final closure, reducing seat wear

Description

Cast globe valve (throttle stop valve) comprising a valve body, valve cover, valve flap, and valve stem. A handwheel applies torque to the upper end of the valve stem, moving the valve flap axially along the stem axis to achieve full-open, full-closed, and flow-regulating positions. The valve flap does not contact the valve seat until final closure, reducing seat wear and extending service life.

Selection notes

This globe valve is a throttle stop valve and cast pattern.

Sizes run DN50 to DN300, in PN20, PN25, PN40, PN63, PN100, PN160, PN250, PN320, PN400, PN420, Class 150, Class 300, Class 400, Class 600, Class 900, Class 1500, Class 2500.

The body is offered in Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel and Alloy Steel, so the grade can be matched to the service rather than the other way round.

Stated service media include high-temperature and high-pressure working media, toxic and hazardous liquids and general pipeline media where precise flow regulation is not critical.

It is catalogued for Water & Wastewater.

Working temperature is -29°C to 540°C.

Built to BS 1873, API 623 and ASME B16.34.

Casted GGC Valves configurations

View full Casted GGC Valves system →
This product is part of the Casted GGC Valves modular system. All configurations share the same hydraulically operated body: the control function is set by the pilot valve(s) attached. An existing Casted GGC Valves body in the field can be reconfigured for a different duty simply by swapping the pilot, without replacing the body.
