Typical applications

  • Petroleum industry pipelines
  • Chemical industry pipelines
  • Pharmaceutical industry pipelines
  • Fertiliser industry pipelines
  • Power industry pipelines
  • Low-temperature service pipelines
  • Horizontal and vertical pipeline installations
  • Installations with limited access space

Features

  • Two semicircular spring-loaded discs mounted on a central vertical pivot
  • Wafer-style connection for compact, lightweight structure
  • Disc opens from base first, minimising seal wear during opening
  • Short closing stroke with spring loading for rapid closure, reducing water hammer
  • Gradual closure as flow decreases; faster closure during backflow
  • Spring closes top of disc first, protecting disc base and prolonging seal life
  • Sealing surface options: wear-resistant weld overlay or rubber lining
  • Suitable for horizontal and vertical pipeline installation
  • Wide range of compatible media including oxidising agents and cryogenic fluids

Description

Dual plate check valve comprising two semicircular, spring-loaded discs mounted on a central vertical pivot within a wafer-style body. The disc opens from the base first under fluid force, minimising seal wear; spring force ensures gradual closure as flow reduces and rapid closure during backflow to mitigate water hammer. Sealing surfaces may be wear-resistant material welded to the body or rubber-lined.

Selection notes

This check valve is a dual plate pattern, supplied for wafer installation.

Sizes run DN50 to DN1600, in PN10, PN16, PN25, PN40, PN63, PN100, PN160, PN250, PN320, PN400, PN420, Class 150, Class 300, Class 400, Class 600, Class 900, Class 1500, Class 2500.

The body is offered in Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel and Alloy Steel, so the grade can be matched to the service rather than the other way round.

Seat and trim options are Wear-resistant overlay weld and Rubber lining. The seat, not the body, usually sets the temperature and medium limit, so confirm it against the service before ordering.

Stated service media include water, steam, oil products, nitric acid, acetic acid and strong oxidising agents.

It is catalogued for Water & Wastewater and Oil & Gas.

Working temperature is -46°C to 200°C.

Built to API 6D, ASME B16.34, GB/T 12236, GB/T 12224 (P-T rating) and API 607.

Casted Check Valve configurations

View full Casted Check Valve system →
This product is part of the Casted Check Valve modular system. All configurations share the same hydraulically operated body: the control function is set by the pilot valve(s) attached. An existing Casted Check Valve body in the field can be reconfigured for a different duty simply by swapping the pilot, without replacing the body.
