Temperature by material

The temperature limit follows the material grade, so the range above spans every grade offered rather than any one build. Confirmed at quotation.

Alloy steel
-29°C to 120°C
Low temperature steel
-46°C to 120°C
Stainless steel
-196°C to 120°C (cryogenic service requires an extended bonnet and a BS 6364 type test)

Operating media

Liquefied natural gas (LNG)Liquid nitrogen (LIN)RefrigerantsLiquid food media

Typical applications

  • Liquefied natural gas (LNG) process systems: flow regulation and system pressure control
  • Chemical process systems: refrigerant liquid nitrogen transportation
  • Food processing: liquid food delivery systems

Actuation options

Replaceable / interchangeable actuator interface

Features

  • Offset valve stem and eccentric butterfly plate design-seat and disc do not contact during opening or mid-position, reducing friction and operating torque
  • Double safety anti-blow-out valve stem structure-independent stem retention mechanisms at both upper and lower ends, compliant with API 609
  • Two-way sealing flexible lip seat-elastic structure auto-adjusts with temperature and pressure changes; achieves bubble-tight (no-bubble leakage) two-way sealing
  • Internal travel limiter-reduces probability of seat damage and extends seat service life
  • Fireproof and anti-static structure (optional)
  • High-strength one-piece integral valve stem-ensures effective torque transmission and sealing integrity
  • Standardised valve stem head-allows actuator replacement without modification

Description

A triple-offset (eccentric butterfly plate and offset valve stem) high-performance butterfly valve designed for cryogenic service. The seat and disc do not contact each other during opening and mid-position, reducing seat friction and operating torque whilst improving seat durability. Suitable for use as a regulating and isolation valve handling cryogenic liquids including liquefied natural gas.

Selection notes

This cryogenic butterfly valve is a high-performance butterfly valve and eccentric butterfly valve pattern.

Sizes run DN150 to DN2000, in Class 150, Class 300, Class 600, PN10, PN16, PN25, PN40.

The body is offered in Low temperature steel, Stainless steel and Alloy steel, so the grade can be matched to the service rather than the other way round.

Stated service media include liquefied natural gas (lng), liquid nitrogen (lin), refrigerants and liquid food media.

It is catalogued for Oil & Gas.

Working temperature is -196°C to 120°C, by material.

Built to API 609.

Supplier remarks

  • Fireproof and anti-static structure is optional

Cryogenic Valves configurations

View full Cryogenic Valves system →
This product is part of the Cryogenic Valves modular system. All configurations share the same hydraulically operated body: the control function is set by the pilot valve(s) attached. An existing Cryogenic Valves body in the field can be reconfigured for a different duty simply by swapping the pilot, without replacing the body.
