Typical applications

  • Liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage and transportation
  • Air separation equipment
  • Chemical industry
  • Energy sector
  • Long-distance oil and gas pipelines

Features

  • Side-mounted body structure eliminates need to dismantle pipeline during maintenance
  • Elongated valve stem with low-temperature insulation to reduce heat conduction and prevent external frosting
  • Deep cold treatment technology applied to ensure reliable sealing at cryogenic temperatures
  • Optimised body structure reduces weight whilst maintaining pressure-bearing capacity
  • Compliant with API 6D, BS 6364, and ISO 28921

Description

A side-entry floating ball valve designed for deep cryogenic service with media such as LNG and liquid nitrogen. The side-mounted body structure allows in-line maintenance without pipeline disassembly. Constructed from stainless steel or special alloy materials with combined metal hard seal and soft seal arrangement to achieve at temperatures from -196 °C to +150 °C.

Selection notes

This cryogenic ball valve is a side entry ball valve and floating ball valve pattern.

Sizes run DN15 to DN200, in Class 150, Class 300.

The body is offered in Stainless Steel and Alloy Steel, so the grade can be matched to the service rather than the other way round.

Stated service media include lng, lpg, liquid nitrogen, natural gas, oil and gas.

It is catalogued for Oil & Gas.

Working temperature is -196°C to 150°C, by material.

Built to API 6D, BS 6364 and ISO 28921.

Cryogenic Valves configurations

View full Cryogenic Valves system →
This product is part of the Cryogenic Valves modular system. All configurations share the same hydraulically operated body: the control function is set by the pilot valve(s) attached. An existing Cryogenic Valves body in the field can be reconfigured for a different duty simply by swapping the pilot, without replacing the body.
