Features

  • The A500 operates as a pressure sustaining valve, holding a minimum upstream pressure to ensure adequate supply pressure is maintained at all times
  • It can equally function as a pressure relief valve, opening to discharge excess pressure when upstream pressure exceeds a set limit

Description

The A500 is a pressure sustaining and relief configuration of the A900 main valve body, fitted with a P500 pilot. When upstream pressure is above the sustaining set point the pilot holds the main valve closed to protect upstream supply; when pressure exceeds the relief set point the pilot opens the valve to discharge excess pressure. Used at pump stations and reservoir outlets to prevent both under-pressure collapse and over-pressure damage. The A900 body can be repiloted in the field without body replacement.

Selection notes

This control valve is supplied for flanged installation.

Sizes run DN50 to DN800, in PN10, PN16, PN25.

The body is EN-GJS-500-7.

Seat and trim options are AISI 304 and 316. The seat, not the body, usually sets the temperature and medium limit, so confirm it against the service before ordering.
