Features

The A76D double-chamber pump control valve provides active surge protection on both pump start and pump stop
On pump start, the valve opens in a controlled two-stage sequence to prevent startup surge
On pump stop, it closes slowly to arrest the decelerating water column before the pump reverses
The dual-chamber design provides greater control authority and damping than single-chamber valves

Description

The A76D is a pump control configuration of the A900 main valve body with a double-chamber actuator. The dual-chamber design provides independent hydraulic control of opening and closing rates, allowing the valve to open slowly on pump start to limit inrush and close in a controlled deceleration profile on pump stop to prevent surge. Needle valves in each chamber circuit allow both rates to be set independently in the field to match the specific pump and pipeline hydraulics.

Selection notes

This control valve is supplied for flanged installation.

Sizes run DN50 to DN800, in PN10, PN16, PN25.

The body is EN-GJS-500-7.

Seat and trim options are AISI 304. The seat, not the body, usually sets the temperature and medium limit, so confirm it against the service before ordering.

Stated service media include clean water and treated water.

It is catalogued for Water & Wastewater.

Working temperature is 10°C to 80°C.
