Features

  • The A7MD is a pump control valve with an integrated manual override facility and delayed closing function
  • The manual override allows the valve to be held open or closed independently of pump operation for commissioning, testing and maintenance
  • The delayed closing timer extends the valve closing time on pump trip, allowing the hydraulic transient to decay before the valve seats, minimising water hammer on long rising mains

Description

The A7MD is a passive pump protection configuration of the A900 main valve body. The hydraulic control circuit slows the valve closing rate on pump stop, preventing the pressure surge associated with rapid check valve slam without requiring a separate power supply or active control system. Closing rate is tuned via needle valves in the pilot circuit. The passive design is inherently fail-safe and suitable for remote or unmanned pump stations.

Selection notes

This control valve is supplied for flanged installation.

Sizes run DN50 to DN800, in PN10, PN16, PN25.

The body is EN-GJS-500-7.

Seat and trim options are Stainless Steel AISI 304. The seat, not the body, usually sets the temperature and medium limit, so confirm it against the service before ordering.

Stated service media include clean water and treated water.

It is catalogued for Water & Wastewater.

Working temperature is 10°C to 80°C.

Built to EN 1074-5, BS EN 1074-5, EN 558-1, EN 12266-1 and EN 1092-2.
