Description

The A2A5 is a surge anticipating configuration of the A900 main valve body, fitted with a P20A pressure sensing pilot. The pilot monitors line pressure and begins opening the valve as soon as pressure rises above the set point, discharging to atmosphere or a recirculation line to absorb surge energy before it reaches its full magnitude. This anticipatory action is more effective than a simple relief valve, which only opens after the surge has peaked. Used at pump stations and long transmission mains susceptible to water hammer.

Selection notes

This control valve is supplied for flanged installation.

Sizes run DN50 to DN800, in PN10, PN16, PN25.

The body is EN-GJS-500-7.

Seat and trim options are AISI 304 and AISI 316. The seat, not the body, usually sets the temperature and medium limit, so confirm it against the service before ordering.
